Senior Manager, Corporate Communications

Job Description

The Position 

We are looking for a leader of our corporate communications team to help define the strategy and implement programs which will expand awareness and enhance perception of the OPSWAT brand around the world. You will use your exceptional writing and storytelling skills to lead PR, corporate communications, and our thought leadership programs; partner with internal teams to influence brand and analyst relations strategies; ensure consistent and compelling messaging is delivered across all programs. This position reports to the CMO (based in San Francisco) and can be based anywhere in the US.  

What You Will Be Doing 

This role requires experience across public relations, corporate communications, and thought leadership programs.

  • Define and build the company’s thought leadership platform, defining the issues and topics that create opportunities for engagement and story creation 

  • Partner across the organization to build thought leadership, develop newsworthy content, and leverage our position to project our company narrative to the influencers in the market 

  • Direct and implement communications programs that are aligned with key marketing initiatives and strategic business priorities 

  • Work with executives and other team members to develop messaging that informs our external narrative and supports a variety of external-facing activities such as media briefings, customer-facing events, and industry speaking opportunities 

  • Work cross-functionally with teams inside OPSWAT, including product marketing, legal, brand, HR, engineering, and social media to ensure we’re delivering consistent messages to our target audiences 

  • Craft and drive an editorial calendar and cadence of thought leadership and news that advances OPSWAT’s corporate narrative with our key audiences 

  • Draft written materials, including pitches, executive bylines, presentations, blogs, website pages, whitepapers, eBooks, case studies, and company newsletters 

  • Help repurpose and integrate content for multiple channels and ensure that messaging and stories are compelling and consistent across multiple types of content, including our website 

  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges and be able to deal with ambiguity 

  • Define and build a program to pursue and secure relevant industry awards 

  • Define and build a program to showcase customer references via case studies, quotes, and other formats 

  • Ensure programs are achieving measurable goals. Develop and track key deliverables and KPIs. Identify and leverage data to support storytelling efforts 


What We Need From You 

  • 10+ years of corporate communications experience, including public relations and thought leadership programs. Experience in cybersecurity is a plus 

  • An exceptional storyteller and writer who knows how to mine for great stories with the ability to understand technology and translate ideas into communication strategies, messaging, and compelling narratives 

  • Proven ability to repurpose content into multiple content types for distribution in many channels 

  • Strong strategic thinking, writing, communications, problem solving, technical and analytical skills 

  • Strong organizational skills with proven capability to manage everything from strategy to details as well as comfortable multitasking and prioritizing different requests 

  • Ability to react and respond quickly to time-sensitive situations 

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage relationships with media and influencers 

  • Strong spirit of collaboration and proven ability to work across different groups – across all levels and functions
