Director of Cloud Engineering

We are looking for a seasoned hands-on cloud engineering leader who will lead the engineering efforts for MetaDefender Cloud. You need to have a strong software engineering background with the right personality to lead and set an example for the software engineering team and work closely with the DevOps and SRE team. This is an exciting opportunity to re-engineer our Cloud platform with the latest technology stacks (e.g. Kubernetes, EMR, SQS) for hyper growth.  You will have the opportunities to expand and lead other SaaS product development.

What You Will Be Doing 

• Drive the execution and delivery of engineering goals by collaborating with cross-functional teams, architects, and product managers 

• Build a new local team and work with our global locations  

• Drive technology roadmap, manage initiatives, and development life cycle using Scrum/Agile methodology 

• Being part of the overall architecture and key components design for the current and future framework 

• Proactively communicate issues and resolve escalations with customer-facing teams like support and sales 

• Supervise training and development of software engineering staff 

• Keep up-to-date with modern development technologies and methodologies  

• Motivate the product team to go above and beyond with continuous delivery and innovation 

What We Need From You 

• Experience developing software for a software company (e.g. not only experience within a financial, healthcare, or defense department company)

• Ability to initiate design and implement a new product from end to end 

• Proven experience with implementing software engineering industry best practices and SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations 

• Ability to mentor engineers and help them with career growth 

• Experience in collaboration with engineering teams in multiple countries 

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present complex issues to a wide range of audiences including executives, partners/vendors, internal teams, and external audiences 

• Experience with agile development, rapid release cycles, and supporting customer-oriented solutions 

• Strong project management skills

• Experience with full-stack server-side development and SOA / microservice  

• Experience with microservices, cloud providers and containers
