For the Fall 2021 Semester


One Common Unity (OCU) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that breaks cycles of violence and builds compassionate, healthy communities through the transformative power of music, arts, and peace education. Our distinctive, holistic approach to youth development provides a strong foundation for disadvantaged youth in Washington, D.C. to succeed academically and professionally, reach their personal goals, and live healthy, productive lives. OCU emphasizes the importance of social-emotional learning, social justice, and artistic expression in changing communities for the better and empowers youth participants to take leadership roles in doing so. 

We are seeking Fall '21 (September-December) Interns and Fellows in the following area:

  • Film and Media – The Film and Media Intern will use compelling media to assist in telling One Common Unity’s stories by highlighting the organization's mission and sharing the voices of young people. Assist in project based filming, logging, editing and/or producing media: short docs, promo videos and music videos. This position reports to the Senior Media Producer. During the pandemic this job is remote with the possibility of moving into the office once "normal" work life can commence. 

  • Adobe Suite: Photoshop and Premiere experience preferred. Google Suite experience is a plus.

Hours vary per internship/fellowship, but we expect the Fall term to run from September through December, with the option to continue working with us over the Winter. One Common Unity is registered to provide academic credit through all major universities in Washington, D.C. Interns and fellows receive a stipend.
