Sr. Manager/Associate Director, Field Reimbursement Management (FRM) role is responsible for providing coding and payment expertise to support the Oncopeptides portfolio. The individual in this role will have responsibility for implementation of brand reimbursement strategies, educating customers on payer coverage, coding and payment policies affecting the Oncopeptides portfolio, and engaging with customers to troubleshoot and resolve reimbursement barriers. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in educating and developing customer relationships and working cross-functional and across all payer types, along with oncology provider office staff, to facilitate appropriate market access.

This is a customer facing position, so travel is required based on business needs, up to 50%. The role requires very close collaboration with the HQ based personnel and strong preference for a candidate who is located close to the US Headquarters in Waltham, MA.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the operations for successful Field Reimbursement Management (FRM).
  • Deliver in-person, expert issue resolution to healthcare offices / provider teams for patients experiencing challenges with payer and reimbursement issues.
  • Address, gauge and troubleshoot issues typical with an IV product.
  • Discuss financial support options for each payer type.
  • Educate stakeholders on the PAP application, enrollment and re-enrollment process for appropriate patients.
  • Drive hub utilization; educate on different patient / payer support; forms; enrollment, copay, etc.
  • Work closely with the Patient Services (hub) team to support the patient journey.
  • Proactively identify potential marketplace trends/barriers within targeted accounts as well as overall payer landscape.
  • Support Sales, Marketing, and other key internal stakeholders, by providing expert consultation on payer specifics business issues, and payer coverage policies.
  • Establish strong internal relationships and provide on-going clear communication to ensure clarity of access positions and support pull-through efforts.
  • Assist in providing insight into the development of patient access and reimbursement marketing support materials.
  • Support sales operations as reimbursement experts through effective on-going training coordinated with Oncopeptides training team.
  • Ensure alignment and high proactive levels of communication and collaboration with all account resources.
  • Establish strong internal relationships and provide on-going clear communication to ensure clarity of access positions and support pull-through efforts.
  • Perform above job duties in compliance with all applicable legal requirements and company policies in collaboration with Oncopeptides Legal and Compliance.

Experience, Education, Training, Traits:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or a related field. A master’s degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience working in Sales Operations or Business Analytics/Intelligence within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Experience with Buy and Bill or Medical Benefit reimbursement.
  • Buy and Bill product launch experience and expertise overcoming access barriers (unlisted C/J code, , etc.).
  • Expertise in HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10-CM coding and medical benefit product policy and reimbursement.
  • In-depth knowledge of Managed Care, Government, and Federal payer sectors.
  • Understanding CMS requirements and process for product coverage.
  • Complete understanding of the current payer marketplace and its impact on regional sales territories.
  • Ability to creatively think about different problems and devise pragmatic solutions to reimbursement issues.
  • Ability to work well with others and properly manage work with counterparts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to drive toward consensus.
  • Exceptional persuasive written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adjust to changing needs within the organization and flexibility to change priorities as needed.

  • Ability to travel up to 75% required, including weekends.
