The Director of Pricing and Contracting will be responsible for executing all pricing strategies and tactics. A strong understanding of and background in managed markets, reimbursement, pricing, and contracting is required. This individual will be required to strategize, analyze and execute contracts across the company portfolio and provide insights to leadership on an ongoing basis. This person should be familiar with and be able to discuss different contracting approaches and relevant topics. This individual will also need to operate with multiple internal stakeholders including Market Access, Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Legal, Compliance, and Government Affairs. He/she will be required to establish and maintain, as necessary, labeler codes for Medicaid and Medicare contracts.
This position is based in Waltham, MA.
Domestic and international travel up to 20%.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead the development and execution of pricing and contracting strategies in partnership with cross functional teams, including but not limited to: list pricing, contracting strategy, contract and invoice management, deal modeling, contract analytics, pricing committee management, gross to net management, and government (federal and state) price reporting requirements (some via external vendors)
Monitor policy and environment trends related to specialty oncology therapies; and distill key impacts to leadership as they relate to pricing and contracting
Oversee Government Contract Operations including ensuring accurate and timely submissions across Government Prices and other state reporting and validations of TPA calculations
Support the Market Access team to attain organizational and access strategies. Be a valued partner that actively solicits input and provides valuable feedback.
Drive and create contract and pricing analysis across all books of business in concert with internal stakeholders in Finance, Market Access, Legal, Compliance and Commercial leadership
Support data analytics and Accounting/Finance functions where necessary to contribute to the validation of contracts, chargebacks and rebates
Balance goals of optimizing return on investment and driving launch performance
Inspire, coach, manage and develop pricing and contracting to achieve and grow as individuals and a cohesive team
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or higher degree preferred
10 years of biotech/pharma experience, three of which must have been in direct Pricing and Contracting work
Demonstrated background and experience in analyzing multiple data sets in line with current and future policy in order to build strategies and communicate those strategies to leadership
Skilled at oral and written communication of complex data sets and strategies to leadership
Expertise in both oral pharmacy and injectable/IV medical benefits and purchasing programs
Solid understanding of the evolving health policy and health system environment for specialty oncology therapies
Ability to work interdependently with other departments to execute and operationalize strategies and tactics
Competent with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
Must be able to meet tight deadlines, stay organized, and be a self-starter
