About OmniAb’s xPloration® Discovery System

OmniAb’s xPloration Discovery System offers superior screening and cell recovery compared to other single cell profiling technologies. Its high throughput enables the discovery of rare cells potentially missed by other systems or approaches. Its rapid laser-based recovery process paired with next-generation sequencing enables further mining of immune repertoires for potential hit expansion. xPloration supports various assay formats and is valuable for high-throughput B cell screening within the growing OmniAb partner ecosystem.


About This Role

We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager who will lead the strategic positioning, product strategy, and go‑to‑market execution for xPloration, our high-throughput single B cell screening platform. This individual will be responsible for shaping the product vision, developing marketing materials, guiding strategic market expansion, and enabling commercial success across sales, field support, and scientific applications teams. The Senior Product Manager will be a critical member of the xPloration team - working closely with Science, Marketing, Business Development, Sales, Applications, Field Support, and Executive Leadership to accelerate adoption and drive sustained growth. The ideal candidate has deep experience in product management for life science instruments - particularly in screening, analytical, or diagnostic devices - with a strong understanding of antibody discovery workflows, immunology research, and customer needs in biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic environments.

This role reports to the SVP, Discovery Systems.

This is an onsite position based at our Emeryville headquarters and will require up to 10% domestic and international travel. This is a full-time position, and the office hours are within 8am to 5pm PT.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead product strategy, roadmap development, and lifecycle management for the xPloration platform.
  • Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies that expand awareness, adoption, and commercial success.
  • Create product messaging, value propositions, and marketing materials that effectively communicate scientific and business impacts.
  • Partner with Sales, Applications, and Field Support to deliver aligned customer experiences and strong sales enablement.
  • Collaborate with Science teams to translate customer insights into product requirements and prioritized features.
  • Drive market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback programs to inform product decisions and positioning.
  • Coordinate and execute new product and feature launches.
  • Represent OmniAb and serve as a product expert at conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to antibody discovery, screening, and high-throughput analysis.
  • Other duties as required.


What You Bring

  • BSc in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of experience in product management for life science tools, technologies, or related research solutions.
    • Alternatively, MSc and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in instruments, automation platforms, or analytical devices.
  • Proven success launching and growing life science device products, ideally in screening, analytical, automation, or diagnostic technologies.
  • Strong understanding of antibody discovery, immunology, or biopharma research workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and work collaboratively with R&D, commercial teams, and leadership.
  • Exceptional skills in strategic positioning, messaging, and value proposition development.
  • Experience developing marketing collateral, sales enablement tools, and product-focused content for technical audiences.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including scientific storytelling.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to positioning, pricing, and market segmentation.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.


Nice To Have

  • MBA or advanced degree in Life Sciences.
  • Certifications in product management (e.g., Pragmatic Institute PMC, AMA PCM, HubSpot Marketing Certification).
  • Experience with AI-powered, automation-driven, or single-cell analysis instruments.
  • Familiarity with antibody discovery platforms, hybridoma, phage display, B cell screening, or flow cytometry workflows.
  • Experience supporting commercial expansion of new life science instrumentation platforms.
  • Experience marketing instrumentation including building campaigns, supporting marketing events, andguiding marketing activities in partnership with the marketing department.
  • Understanding digital marketing analytics, CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), and marketing automation tools.

The base compensation range for this position is $170,000 - $190,000 per year. The range provided is an estimate. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
