Contract Project-based Graphic Designer

We’re currently expanding our roster of freelance and contract creatives for upcoming project-based work.

This is an opportunity for designers who want to collaborate on meaningful work, contribute to campaigns that impact Hawai‘i, and work alongside a senior creative and strategy team without committing to a traditional full-time agency role.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for versatile designers who can jump into projects and contribute quickly across a variety of creative needs:

• Brand identity systems
• Campaign creative
• Social media design
• Print collateral
• Presentation design
• Environmental graphics
• Motion graphics
• Video support
• AI-assisted creative exploration and production

Some projects may be short sprint assignments. Others may evolve into longer-term collaborations depending on fit, workload, and client needs.

We are especially interested in designers who are energized by how AI is reshaping creative workflows and who see emerging tools as creative accelerators rather than replacements.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong design fundamentals and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Collaborative mindset and professional communication skills
• Comfort working in fast-moving environments with evolving priorities
• Curiosity and adaptability toward AI-powered creative tools
• Motion, video, photography, illustration, or presentation design skills are a plus

Qualifications

• Minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts, or related field preferred
• Professional experience in design, agency, in-house, freelance, or equivalent creative work
• Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across mediums

Our process includes interviews, writing exercises, and reference/background checks. Candidates must already be on island (or relocating back soon) and ready to begin work within a month of offer.
