We are looking for a Controller to contribute to our team, with an opportunity for someone to come in and make this position his/her own. This position reports directly to the President/CEO and is the sole administrative position in the agency, although there may be a need to hire clerical help in the near future.


Formal Education and Work Experience

  • Minimum of Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or CPA license.
  • 10+ years work history of increasing responsibility that reflect experience in multiple areas of accounting including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, and Financial Reporting.
  • Work experience in tax preparation, auditing. or cost accounting desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Gmail)
  • Working knowledge of Accounting Information Systems (Sage Accounting, Great Plains, QuickBooks, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of local tax laws and accounting best practice


Office Administration:

  • Office and Equipment leasing management

  • Office Supplies and Equipment ordering and asset tracking

  • Liaison with outsourced IT vendor

Human Resources

  • Recruitment: job posting, screening, offer letters

  • Employee Benefit Management

  • Liaison with outsourced HR/Payroll vendor


  • Payroll: checking timesheets, entering payroll and reviewing for accuracy

  • Accounts Receivable; Generating invoices for clients, collections

  • Accounts Payable: Entering invoices, ensuring invoices conform to contracts, processing payments

  • General Ledger: Maintain accounting system and ensure correct posting of transactions

  • Financial Statements: Prepare monthly internal financial statements and analysis for Executive Staff including Client Profitability and Efficiency (Billable vs Non-billable hours)

  • Tax Return Filing: Calculate and submit monthly General Excise Tax returns and payments; assist outside CPA firm with annual income tax returns and quarterly income tax payments.  

Agency Finances

  • Advise the President/CEO on various matters pertaining to the agency’s business model, new business lines/services, financial projections, agency budgeting and agency resource allocations

  • Assist with outside accounting firms conducting auditing and valuation services
