About Us:

Oculii is developing high resolution imaging radar software to enable the next generation of autonomous systems. Traditional phased array radars have been used for decades and follow a strict size for performance tradeoff - the larger the sensor aperture, the higher the angular resolution. Oculii’s Virtual Aperture Imaging radar software technology fundamentally breaks this tradeoff - enabling its sensors to trade increased compute/processing for angular resolution enhancement with the same physical aperture. Leveraging this technique enables Oculii sensors to extract unprecedented accuracy, range, and 4D positioning information from commodity off the shelf low-cost radar elements, bringing high resolution radar imaging to the next frontier.

Job Duties: 

  • Manage task schedule and assign daily tasks to hardware team members
  • Monitor task progress, mentor and help hardware team members as needed
  • Discuss hardware interface with software engineers and determine the product’s system structure 
  • Perform hardware related software program debugging
  • Research, evaluate new radar chip’s functionality, provide estimation for new chip development and design, and build new chips based on the function specification 
  • Engage in high volume products negotiation with PCB manufacturers
  • Create schematic design and PCB layout. Discuss, revise, and determine the PCB/final product size/case with mechanical engineers
  • Perform prototype debugging, prototype firmware/driver related developing, and prototype assembling 

Job Requirements

  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of hardware design and testing experience, PCB Layout Design, capable to handle component selection and schematic capture.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in leading and managing a small team and coordinating the efforts of hardware and digital electronic group
  • Must have excellent hands-on experiences in:
    • prototype bring-up and debugging, functional verification, and manufacturing support; designing high volume products and dealing with contract manufacturers
    •  analog design, sensor design, high speed serial interfaces (USB, PCIE, SAT), parallel memory interfaces (DDR3/GDDR5), power management, TI DSP chipsets
    • radar hardware design and implementation
    • C/C++/MATLAB programming language and Windows, UNIX, LINUX platform development 
    • ability to design, test and verify radar sensor systems 
    • experience using Altium, SolidWorks and other CAD design packages
  • Ability and willingness to deal with fast development paced and stress for a startup company
