Director of Business Development

Dunthorpe Marketing Group, an Obility Company is seeking a high performance Director of Business Development with 4+ years sales experience, preferably for a B2B tech company or digital marketing agency, to drive new business. The Director of New Business would be responsible for supporting Dunthorpe Marketing’s growth goals and helping evolve the sales, prospecting and outbound activity process going forward.

This role will thrive in pursuit of targets and developing creative, strategic solutions for prospects and clients.  In addition to identifying new markets, opportunities and prospecting methods, this role will work with current account teams to identify, pitch and close upsell and renewal opportunities.  


  • Analyze prospect need and present strategic solutions to B2B marketers and company decision makers
  • Close marketing qualified leads (MQLs) generated through digital marketing efforts and DMG events
  • Outbound email, InMail, and phone calls to prospects and MQLs
  • Create SOWs that address prospect needs and satisfy company margin requirements
  • Educate potential customers on DMG services and differentiators
  • Create prospecting and sales follow up emails

Key Results Areas:

  • Prospect and identify 250+ good fit companies to target
  • Identify 8 opportunities per month and present 8 SOWS per month
  • Close 2 sales-led clients per month
  • Maintain clean data and reporting in Salesforce

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in outbound sales and prospecting
  • Excellent natural solutioning skills particularly relative to identifying company pain points and needs, preparing SOWs, and overcoming objectives to close contracts
  • Strong presentation and phone skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • B2B sales experience
  • Strong Salesforce and lead tracking skills
  • Knowledge of demand generation, account based marketing and revenue operations
