What We’re Looking For
Obility is seeking a Business Development Manager with 2+ years of sales experience, preferably for a B2B tech company or digital marketing agency, to drive new business. This individual will enjoy speaking to B2B professionals about their marketing programs and be highly-driven to provide best-in-class marketing solutions to help our clients grow, and help Obility retain and expand client relationships.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for understanding prospect needs and presenting potential solutions in the form of Obility’s services to B2B marketing decision makers. The role will lead discovery calls, present capabilities, commission audits from the team, draft and negotiate contracts and support our client teams in the retention of the book of business they close.
Educate potential customers on Obility’s services and differentiators
Maintain and advance a pipeline of prospect opportunities with helpful, responsive communications, and respectfully persistent follow up emails
Analyze prospect need and present strategic solutions to B2B marketers and company decision makers
Close marketing qualified leads (MQLs) generated through digital marketing efforts, social selling to your network, and events
Build a network of B2B marketers in which you will represent Obility and our services
Create SOWs that address prospect needs and satisfy company margin requirements
Support your growing book of business, and Obility's service teams, with ongoing client check-ins to gather feedback, ensure ongoing alignment, identify expansion opportunities and drive retention
Key Results Areas:
Build a pipeline of marketing- and sales-sourced opportunities that fit Obility’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP)
Close 2+ deals per month and a minimum of $40,000 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR) per quarter
Maintain clean and up-to-date data in Salesforce
2+ years of sales experience
Must be a self-motivated go-getter, competitive, and assertive
Must be tech savvy
Must have strong communication skills and enjoy talking shop
Must be coachable and be able to apply feedback
Must have working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM experience
Desired Skills and Experience
B2B Sales Experience
Excellent natural solutioning skills particularly relative to identifying company pain points and needs, preparing SOWs, and overcoming objectives to close contracts
Leading effective presentations & sales calls
Confidence negotiating contracts with multiple decision makers
Experience utilizing Salesforce and Lead Tracking tools
Knowledge of paid search, paid social, SEO, account based marketing and revenue operations
Salary + Commissions
Year 1 on-target earnings (OTE): $100K; Year 2 OTE: $130K+; Year 3 OTE: $150K+
