What you’ll be doing

The Director, Publications & Medical Strategy is an integral member of the Medical Affairs Team. This individual, in conjunction with the Medical Strategy Lead, will be responsible for developing and executing the publication plans, as well as supporting evidence generation plans for taletrectinib and NSCLC. He/she/they must work collaboratively with cross-functional counterparts in Development, Research and Commercial as well as other partners in the organization to drive execution of the Publication and Evidence Generation plans.

This individual will develop deliverables including integrated evidence generation plans for taletrectinib, scientific publications, and scientific communication platforms.

Key aspects of the role include the development and execution of a forward-thinking evidence generation strategy for taletrectinib, including execution of the publication and medical communications strategy, data gap analysis, and integrated evidence planning.

You will be responsible for…

  • Collaborate directly with executive leadership, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Biostatistics colleagues and external authors to shape and execute the medical communication strategy and evidence generation plans
  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategic publications for the company portfolio assets, in alignment with corporate and medical objectives
  • Guide the creation and refinement of scientific communications materials such as QA, slide decks, and scientific platforms based on publications; ensure consistency and strategic messaging across publications and communication channels, for the lead assets in NSCLC and glioma.
  • Drive prioritization and decision-making for key publications; anticipate and resolve challenges related to data dissemination and stakeholder alignment.
  • Ensure all publications adhere to ICMJE, GPP, and internal compliance standards.
  • With Medical Strategy Lead, support the development and execution of an Evidence Generation Plan for taletrectinib, including the Publication Plan and ISR strategy.
  • With Medical Strategy Lead, develop and execute external research and collaborations (ISR) strategy that is aligned to company goals and prioritized data gaps.
  • Evaluate ISR concepts & protocols to ensure scientific rigor and alignment with Medical Affairs strategy.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned in Medical Strategy.

What Knowledge & Experience you'll bring to us...

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (PharmD, PhD, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or MD)
  • 5+ years minimum experience in biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Experience writing, developing peer-reviewed scientific publications required; CMPP preferred
  • Understanding of publication best practices, GPP/ICMJE guidelines, and regulatory-compliant scientific communication.
  • Oncology experience required; NSCLC experience preferred.
  • Experience conducting gap assessments and executing evidence generation plans including the developing and running of medical affairs company sponsored studies, such as EAP and ISRs
  • Experience managing agencies and/or vendors.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific data to diverse audiences
  • Works independently. Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can manage multiple priorities at one time with little direction
  • Ability to travel to Nuvation Bio Headquarters and professional congresses as appropriate (~25%)

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
