What you’ll be doing
Nuvation Bio is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Director, Evidence Generation Strategy and Operations to lead the planning, prioritization, and operational oversight of all non-registrational evidence generation activities across our oncology portfolio. This role will serve as a matrix leader across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Commercial, Market Access, HEOR, and external collaborators to ensure an integrated evidence generation strategy that supports lifecycle management, differentiation, and value demonstration for our commercial-stage product and late-stage pipeline asset.

- Evidence Generation Strategy
- Partner with Medical Strategy Leads to develop and maintain integrated Evidence Generation Plans (EGPs) across the oncology portfolio, ensuring alignment with lifecycle management objectives.
- Identify and prioritize evidence gaps across clinical, economic, and real-world settings to inform evidence generation investments.
- Partner with Clinical Development, Commercial, and Market Access to align evidence strategies with product differentiation and value demonstration goals.
- Translate strategic business and scientific objectives into actionable evidence-generation initiatives.
- Matrix Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a matrix leader across internal functions including:
- Medical Affairs
- Clinical Development / Clinical Operations
- Biostatistics / Data Science
- HEOR / Market Access
- Commercial / Marketing
- Legal / Compliance
- Alliance / Business Development
- Facilitate governance, prioritization, and decision-making forums for evidence generation programs.
- Drive alignment across internal stakeholders and external partners on study priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Serve as a matrix leader across internal functions including:
- Investigator-Initiated and Collaborative Research Oversight
- Oversee strategy, intake, review, prioritization, and tracking of Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISRs).
- Partner with Medical Strategy Leads, Field Medical and external investigators to ensure studies align with scientific and business priorities.
- Lead or support collaborative research initiatives with academic institutions, cooperative groups, and research networks.
- Ensure proper oversight of budgets, milestones, contracts, and deliverables for externally sponsored research.
- HEOR & Real-World Evidence (RWE)
- Provide coordination and operational oversight for HEOR and RWE studies, including:
- Burden of illness studies
- Treatment pattern analyses
- Comparative effectiveness research
- Economic models / cost-effectiveness analyses
- Retrospective/prospective observational studies
- Patient-reported outcomes / quality-of-life research
- Provide coordination and operational oversight for HEOR and RWE studies, including:
- Partner with Market Access and HEOR teams to generate evidence supporting payer engagement and reimbursement strategies.
- Evaluate and recommend data sources, research partners, and methodologies for RWE generation.
- Program & Operational Management
- Build and manage evidence-generation operational processes, governance, and tracking systems.
- Oversee study timelines, budgets, contracts, milestones, and vendor management.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor portfolio performance and communicate progress to leadership.
- Ensure studies are conducted in compliance with internal SOPs, regulatory guidance, and applicable laws.
What Knowledge & Experience you'll bring to us...
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs, Evidence Generation, HEOR, RWE, Clinical Research, or related functions within biotech/pharma.
- Experience in oncology strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading non-registrational evidence generation strategies across marketed and/or late-stage products.
- Experience managing or overseeing ISR programs, collaborative research, and/or externally sponsored studies.
- Experience managing RWE and HEOR projects inclusive of evidence generation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of the role of evidence in medical, payer, and commercial decision-making.
- Proven ability to lead in a matrixed organization without direct authority.
- Strong program management and operational execution skills.
- Preferred
- Advanced degree preferred: PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH, or MS in life sciences, epidemiology, public health, health economics, or related field.
- Experience in a commercial-stage biotech or fast-paced, growth-stage environment.
- Experience supporting product launch / pre-launch evidence planning.
- Familiarity with global evidence generation considerations.
- Alliance Management experience.
- Experience working with oncology-specific real-world datasets and registries.

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
