Corporate | Hybrid in New York, NY | Full Time | From $220,000 to $230,000 per year

What you’ll be doing

The Director, Corporate Development, will lead key activities supporting Nuvation Bio’s business development and investor relations functions. This highly visible role will work directly with the Head of Corporate Development and Investor Relations to support the company’s long-term strategic initiatives and relationships with the investment community.

You will be responsible for…

  • Source and evaluate acquisition, in-licensing, out-licensing, and partnership opportunities aligned with Nuvation Bio’s strategic goals.
  • Prepare financial analyses including Net Present Value and Discounted Cash Flow models, and effectively communicate learnings in presentations to CFO and Head of Corporate Development & IR.
  • Lead cross-functional deal teams in due diligence and valuation analysis. Support the management team in term sheet structuring and negotiation of definitive agreements.
  • Support long-range strategic planning and assessment of capital allocation priorities and requirements. Build financial models to assess long-term value of the Company’s internal programs and operating plans.
  • Support investor relations, including relationships with equity research analysts and investors.
  • Play key role in developing investor messaging. Manage investor conference schedule, roadshow planning, and investor/corporate presentations.
  • Partner with corporate communications, including the strategy and execution of IR/PR initiatives and vendor management.
  • Assist Head of Corporate Development & Investor Relations with presentations to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors
  • Work with other members of the Corporate Development team to support various ad-hoc strategic initiatives within the organization.

What Knowledge & Experience you'll bring to us...

  • BS/BA, advanced degree preferred in Science or Business, MBA preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in investment banking, management consulting, or corporate strategy within a life sciences organization.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic roles within the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading in-house strategic planning, including program-level strategy and cross-functional alignment.
  • Prior experience completing complex financial transactions, including whole-company acquisitions, licensing agreements, and/or equity and debt financings.
  • Experience interacting with investors and sell-side analysts highly preferred.
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment as part of a high-performing team.

The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location among other factors. Our full-time regular positions also include an annual performance-based bonus and long-term incentive units (equity) provided as part of our compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
