Founded in 1999, Norcon is a Chicago-based General Contractor that manages the construction of simple to complex commercial projects as well as high-end residential projects. Norcon completes work all over the country through our Chicago office. We pride ourselves on being client-focused, as well as a leader in today’s progressive construction industry. Our diverse history of award-winning projects includes commercial, retail, educational, pharmaceutical, hospitality, religious and high-end residential construction.

We are proud of the work we do and the team we’ve built. We believe that creating and fostering a great company culture is good for both. We work smart, hold ourselves to the highest standards, develop our team, work collaboratively, deliver great results for our clients, and have fun!

Norcon has Internships available for Engineering or Construction Management students, considering a career in Field Management. As an intern, you will gain experience in all aspects of our projects from preconstruction through closeout.

About the Mural Arts Project:

Located in the heart of the Ogden Avenue Corridor at 3216 W. Ogden Ave., the Mural Arts Park (MAP) will be a state-of-the-art welcoming destination that celebrates creativity, community and the mural arts. Designed as a calming space rooted in hope and peace, MAP will be free, accessible and open to the public year-round.

The campus will include a new single-story building and an expansive outdoor garden. The grounds will be home to about 30 large-scale murals by local and national artists, forming an immersive outdoor gallery. MAP will maintain a permanent collection of key murals while rotating elements of the collection to highlight new and local talent and keep the space dynamic.

Inside, MAP will offer creative classes and workshops for teens and adults in two dedicated studio spaces, along with a welcoming café and flexible areas for community events and gatherings. Together, these spaces position MAP as a creative hub for Chicago’s West Side, where culture and community come together.

Candidates who live in or have strong ties to the North Lawndale community are encouraged to apply.
