Video Editor (6 mo. Temp)

Creative | Emeryville, CA | Temporary

Job Description

At Nexon, games are more than a business, and marketing them isn’t just about selling stuff. For us, creative assets for marketing mobile games should get players excited and draw them into each game’s unique world. It’s an experience that starts with their very first interaction with our game—whether it’s an App Store video or a launch trailer—and continues with every interaction they have with our game. Our creative decisions are informed by both brand values and performance metrics in equal parts. Marketing creative captures interest and tells stories to captivate players with every asset they encounter and expands their experience of the game. Every interaction with our work is to inspire Nexon customers to be passionate game fans and loyal brand advocates.

We’re looking for a Video Editor to be a core participant on the Nexon Creative team for Marketing, responsible for supporting creative production and execution of finished assets including Community, live streaming, events, corporate projects, and User Acquisition (TBD). We’re looking for natural talent and vision, but also specific experience in video asset creation to inspire viewers to download, or continue to engage with our mobile games. As the first and only Video Editor on staff, you’ll have the opportunity and responsibility to help guide the growth of video as a function within the Creative Development team, as an integrated part of our mobile games publishing business.

The Video Editor will thrive in a collaborative environment but also roll up their sleeves and dig into projects individually. You’re a self-starter who also works and plays well with others on the team, receiving and sharing criticism professionally and supportively, and interacting effectively with internal clients and developers. Our Video Editor will bring fresh imagination and state-of-the-art skills, take direction from Art Directors, Designers, and/or Project Managers, and be an integrated participant within our fast-paced work environment. You will bring a point of view to support your talent and seamlessly add your skills to our growing Creative team.

The Video Editor will also communicate clearly and comfortably in cross-functional conversations, deliver valid input that supports Creative recommendations, and advocate for excellence using criteria that our internal clients and developer partners understand and value. The Video Editor must have diplomatic skills to engage with clients and developers from a strategic perspective, while also delivering creative, high quality video assets.
