Solution Architect / Pre-Sales Engineer (Boston, MA)

Job Description

As a Solution Architect / Pre-Sales Engineer you will work closely with Sales Directors and Enterprise Architects to articulate the value proposition of New Signature's services to potential and current clients by providing subject matter expertise across multiple areas within the Microsoft technology platform, exhibiting the ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technologies for both technical and business decision makers, all while aligning solutions to the latest New Signature and Microsoft offerings. A Solution Architect / Pre-Sales Engineer will build and develop initial customer relationships and identify and qualify potential opportunities where New Signature can bring value.  Solution Architects / Pre-Sales Engineers will lead the technical qualification of new sales opportunities and the documentation of client requirements.

Job Location: This position is designated as work from home, however, must be in reasonable proximity to attend client meetings in the Boston area, and occasional meetings in New York.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the Sales and Marketing to create the initial wow impression for customers through a marketing event or by strategic envisioning of solutions

  • Provides broad over-arching guidance and insight for linking technologies to business requirements

  • Translates Microsoft technology architecture concepts to timeframe roadmaps

  • Provides in-depth product demonstrations and presentations for customers and marketing events

  • Participates in all sales and marketing initiatives acting as the face of the cumulative New Signature technical expertise for a geographic region and for general technical envisioning

  • Coordinates with Enterprise Architect team to map customer business needs to expertly design technology solutions and level of effort budget

  • Works with Enterprise Architects to co-own the delivery of the solution offering, ensuring that the proposed architecture is properly scoped and in-line with customer goals and business requirements

  • Develops relationships with customer stakeholders to understand their business challenges and to identify potential additional opportunities for New Signature offerings

  • Publicly evangelizes new Microsoft technologies and any new New Signature offerings

  • Travels throughout the specified geographic area to meet with clients as needed

  • Strives to strengthen relationships with local region Microsoft SPs and other reps

  • Participates in global and local region marketing initiatives (Events, Blogging, and Webinars)

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology field of study, or equivalent years of experience

  • 4+ years of experience as a Microsoft solutions design subject matter expert

  • Has Subject Matter Expert level experience in several of the areas below:

    • Platform (Azure)

    • Productivity (Office 365)

    • Business Apps (Dynamics)

    • Identity Management

    • Security

    • Systems Management

    • PaaS and dev platforms

    • Collaboration apps

  • Demonstrated ability in the following:

    • Providing broad over-arching guidance and insight for linking technologies to business requirements

    • Translating technology architecture concepts to timeframe roadmaps

    • Explaining complex technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, and connecting technological solutions with measurable business value

    • Develop innovative technical approaches as complete solutions to business problems

    • Clearly articulating solutions and navigating complex solutions discussion to multiple demanding stakeholders

    • Considering and communicating the impact of solution options and long-term effects of decisions/solutions

  • A passion for helping clients succeed in designing and developing modern technology solutions

  • Exceptional listening, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical, deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with all levels of client staff and internal teams

  • Success-driven, works well in a diverse team and enjoys a dynamic and changing environment

  • Must be in reasonable proximity to attend client meetings in the Northeast US region

  • Windows Hyper-V

  • MCITP, MCTS, MCM, MCSA, MCSE or other certifications
