JOB SUMMARY:

The Visual Designer implements and develops graphic design and user interface design solutions to further NEC’s goals. The designer’s duties include brainstorming creative ideas with project teams, developing visual concepts for approval, and collaborating with developers to produce online designs. The designer implements NEC’s visual identity and executes design projects ranging from print ads, signage, direct mail, promotional products, collateral materials, digital screens, and web assets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conceptualize, design, and execute high-quality creative work.

  • Maintain brand standards across all channels.

  • Participate in regular design reviews with stakeholders.

  • Collaborate and communicate with internal partners to produce creative solutions to meet goals.

  • Generate multiple options with supporting strategy for each design objective.

  • Follow existing best practices and create new best practices to increase overall effectiveness of design deliverables and end product.

  • Complete setup of files for the end result/deliverable.

  • Implement all print production and digital asset exports.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Design, Visual Arts or relevant field preferred.

  • At least years of experience designing for a variety of mediums, preferably in an agency or in-house environment.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating an elevated sense of layout, form, color, typography, and digital design skills.

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other visual design tools.

  • Familiarity designing and executing design within an online environment (HTML, CSS, and UX best practices).

  • Experience with responsive design.

  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems, and online collaboration and project management software.

  • Must be able to work independently and take direction to implement feedback.

  • Dedication to skill development and awareness of current and future trends.
