Lead Cultivation Technician

The ideal candidate is detail oriented and observant, with prior experience in all areas of cultivation including cannabis propagation, cloning and pruning techniques, different cultivars, watering plants by hand, Mother plant care, pesticides/biostimulants, and fertigation. The Lead Cultivation Tech will be reporting to the Director of Cultivation and will work closely with the Cultivation Supervisors on a daily basis. The Lead Cultivation Technician should be comfortable helping in all areas of cultivation and requires a minimum of 3 years of prior experience. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Transplanting rooted clones into coco 

  • Topping and pruning vegetative plants

  • Taking cuttings from Mother plants and sticking cuttings into rockwool

  • Pruning Mother plants according to cultivar and cloning needs

  • Preparing grow media for clones and/or transplants 

  • Mixing and applying biostimulants/pesticides via foliar sprays and drenches

  • Releases beneficial/predatory insects

  • Irrigating by hand according to plants size and needs

  • Following strict biosecurity protocols, maintaining sanitation of tools and person

  • Cleaning tables, mopping floors, and filling footbaths with sanitation solution

  • Standing/squatting/bending with arms extended for long periods of time

  • Affixing Metrc tags to plant lots and individual plants 

  • Scouting for and reporting any pests and pathogens (powdery mildew, botrytis)

  • Applying trellis netting, training/manipulating branches to achieve a uniform canopy 

  • Mixing and applying biostimulants/pesticides via foliar sprays and drenches

  • Pruning flowering plants according to cultivar

  • Mixing and delivering nutrients

  • Measuring the EC and pH of nutrient solution and runoff

  • Filling flowering rooms with vegetative plants

  • Checking environmental monitoring system and reporting any outliers 

  • Following strict biosecurity protocols, maintaining sanitation of tools and person

  • Working at a fast pace under warm cultivation lights - rooms average 75+ degrees and 65% relative humidity

  • Any other task assigned by the Cultivation Supervisor or Director of Cultivation


Cultivation Technicians will be required to learn how different cultivars/strains grow, and how to identify a variety of pests/pathogens.This is a labor-intensive position that requires attention to detail, self-accountability, good critical thinking skills, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing tasks.
