Accountant and Tax Manager - Remote

MyEasyAccounts is a rapidly growing accountancy firm established in 2022. Co-owned by Josh and Patrick, we are looking for a proactive and dynamic candidate to join our team and grow with the company.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of small to medium-sized business clients and individuals, working closely with the firm’s founders and the bookkeeping team. You will have direct client interaction, providing advisory and compliance support across accounting and tax matters.

This position is ideal for candidates currently working in practice who are seeking more responsibility and exposure across all aspects of the business. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of accountancy and tax, excellent attention to detail, and a desire to develop professionally within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Client Management: Act as the primary contact for a portfolio of individuals and small-to-medium-sized businesses, maintaining strong client relationships.
• Bookkeeping Oversight: Review work completed by bookkeepers, manage intra-team relationships, and handle non-standard transactions.
• Tax & Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns.
  • Process and submit monthly payrolls.
  • Prepare and file annual accounts and corporation tax returns.
  • Complete and submit self-assessment tax returns for individuals.
  • Prepare and file confirmation statements.
  • Provide tax planning services for individuals and companies.
• Reporting & Leadership:
  • Report key information to senior management.
  • Manage and support a growing team of bookkeepers.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial reporting projects as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Qualifications: ACCA (or equivalent) qualified preferred; part-qualified or other relevant qualifications considered.
• Experience: Previous experience in an accountancy practice with strong knowledge of accounting and tax for SMEs.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero.
  • Experience using Dext, Hubdoc, and BrightPay.
• Communication & Leadership:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and maintain client relationships.
• Other Key Attributes:
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Strong commercial awareness and professional integrity.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing multiple responsibilities.
