Project Coordinator

Project Controls | Hybrid in Metairie, LA | Full Time

Job Description

Job Summary:

Coordinates project schedules, budgets, and administrative activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters under the direction of project leads/ managers.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Review the project proposals to develop the project task plans, allocate budgets, create project schedules, determine communication plans, and define closeout requirements.
  • Update resource tracking charts and roles/ responsibilities matrices.
  • Scheduling project initiation and kick off meetings.
  • Prepare reports relating to key project metrics (cost and schedule performance).
  • Maintain project schedules by monitoring, updating, and reporting upcoming deliverable requirements and project completion duties.
  • Document project deliverables ensuing necessary documents are uploaded while tracking milestones within project schedules and gathering weekly project status reports for the Project Controls team.
  • Support the project team by scheduling project meetings, conference rooms, conference calls, assist in developing project presentations, take meeting minutes and action items during meetings and perform basic follow up with the internal team.
  • Monitor the risk registry files and document risk mitigation plans.
  • Audit documentation per closeout requirements and collect feedback by facilitating project closeout/lessons learned meetings.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year University; or five to ten years related experience with training that includes all education and experience.
  • Prior experience with petrochemical or chemical manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • Primavera (P6) experience is a plus.
