Manager, Retail Operations

Job Description

Summary of Position: 

The Manager of Retail Operations position supports the Director, Retail and Education in assessing and implementing Morphe Retail initiatives for organizational growth. The position will manage the execution of retail operations initiatives and projects, while providing ongoing store support to optimize process efficiencies and improved customer experience.

 

Principle Accountabilities:  

  • Manage and implement Retail Operations projects, ensuring all deliverables, budgets and deadlines are met 
  • Lead new store opening process, grand opening events, relocations and retrofits, as needed, with attendance mandatory at all. Partner with malls and third-party suppliers for successful installation/delivery and compliance and risk management 
  • Create, update and communicate Policy & Procedures and User Guides in partnership with cross-functional and field subject matter experts to ensure compliance and minimize risk exposure 
  • Manage in-store process for cycle counting and annual Physical Inventories in partnership with the Inventory Control team 
  • Manage retail escalation guide, acting as conduit for communication between field and corporate, ensuring any challenges or issues are effectively managed 
  • Support the Director, Retail Field and Education in strategic initiatives planning and tactical in-store execution. (5%)
  • Manage store communications and track operational workload calendar 
  • Act as the owner for all in-store compliance policies and procedures, including fire, cash/banking and health & safety 
  • Work cross-functionally with Visual Merchandising, Store Construction and Education teams to support implementation and communication of corporate initiatives 
  • Partner with the Planning, Logistics and Inventory Control teams to ensure on-time shipment delivery to stores while addressing opportunities for improved efficiencies 
  • Manage supply and maintenance vendor relationships to ensure continued productivity and identification of areas of improvement 
  • Analyze and support all cross-functional corporate and field teams’ initiatives to ensure operational processes are optimized 
  • Support the Regional/Area Managers to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies. Assist in developing, delivering and implementing retail initiatives and support tools leveraging industry trends and benchmarks 
  • Represent Retail Operations in Cross Functional Strategy Meetings and ensure decisions support overall operating model and strategy 
  • Support change management and collect end-user feedback focusing on continuous improvement

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • Extensive experience with a retail environment with demonstrable experience of managing retail operations, communications and projects
  • Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills in a complex, fast-paced and dynamic environment with track record of successful completion
  • Experience of working with global teams on a different time zone highly beneficial
  • Strong analytical aptitude including a strong understanding of key performance indicators
  • Ability to multi-task on various projects and tasks on a daily basis
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal presentation skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively outside of the box
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while being able to execute on a tactical level
  • Exceptional written and oral communications with the ability to understand complex business situations and communicate them
  • Collaborative working style and is inspiring to others, ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to work well with a variety of levels and functions within the organization
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Relevant degree preferred


Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 50% of the time across UK.  
  • Occasional international travel possible.
