IT Help Desk Specialist

Location: Taylorsville, NC (Charlotte, NC area)

The IT Help Desk Specialist will be responsible for supporting the various components of a retail environment IT infrastructure including: computer hardware and software, printers, phone systems, networking, security systems and retail traffic counting systems. The IT Help Desk Specialist will be based at our corporate offices in Taylorsville, NC and will be focused on assisting our retail operations with their technology needs.


  • Provide PC troubleshooting and support to MG+BW retail signature stores
  • Provide desktop support within Microsoft Office environment
  • Complete Windows OS support and installations
  • Manage software and hardware vendor relationships and activities
  • Install software on company laptops, PCs and servers
  • Set up and maintain users and their security via Microsoft Active Directory
  • Occasional travel to our Signature Stores up to 25%


The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of customer service, as well as, a proven background supporting a retail organization utilizing Microsoft and Cisco based software and tools. Travel is required.

  • 5+ years of experience supporting users in a Help Desk environment
  • Experience supporting the various components of a Retail Environment IT Infrastructure as follows:
    • Laptop/Desktop Hardware and Software
    • Printers
    • Data Lines, including digital and VOIP phone lines
    • POTS Phone Lines
    • Phone systems (Avaya & NEC)
    • Networking (LANs, WANs, Servers, PCs, etc.)
    • Cabling for store on our side of the demarcation point (Data/Phone)
    • Sound Systems
    • Fire Alarm Systems
    • Burglar Alarm Systems
    • CCTV systems
    • Store Sound Systems
    • Music on Hold Systems
    • Retail Traffic Counting Systems
  • Knowledge of Cisco & Meraki Network devices
  • Must possess the ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization using excellent written and verbal skills
  • Self-motivated and deadline driven with an overall willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges

Preferred Skills:

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology, Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • PC A+, Network+ and Cisco CCNA certifications, preferred
  • Knowledge of the Storis Point of Sale and/or Microsoft Exchange platforms, a plus
  • Experience with Mac operating systems, a plus
