Assistant Store Manager

  • Recruit, interview and train new sales team
  • Support daily operations of store when General Manager is not present
  • Assist in the supervision, coaching, counseling and training of the sales staff
  • Ensure adequate staffing is on the sales floor at all times
  • Create a positive work environment, embracing/supporting directives from management


  • Manage and assist sales team in the implementation of sales strategies
  • Focus on sales generation and building LTV for the customer
  • Develop key accounts within the developer and building segments   
  • Provide support to store management when scheduling conflicts arise
  • Lead sales to schedule appointments and assist with follow-up efforts
  • Utilize company reports to react to trends and drive business
  • Daily review KPI and margins in your stores to ensure sales are written properly
  • Ensure sales force is knowledgeable in product assortments, special pricing events and current trends in the market
  • Oversee daily sales performance for the store
  • Support all efforts which obtain written and delivered sales 


  • Be an expert in MG+BW's product assortment and provide product knowledge training to the sales team
  • Develop effective selling skills, strategies and behaviors to implement within sales team
  • Deliver training and ongoing education to the selling team including product knowledge training, event information, and policy and procedure updates
  • Build agile, service-focused teams by maintaining a strong floor presence and modeling service behaviors that consistently exceed the expectations of our customers


Ideal candidates will be operationally savvy, detail-oriented, and possess prior home furnishings experience, with expertise in offering superior levels of customer service. Candidates should have flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and occasional 6-day work weeks

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (3 to 5 years retail sales experience)
  • Previous retail management experience in a high-end or luxury retail store
  • Ideal candidate will be detail oriented and operationally savvy with superior organizational and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to assume the responsibilities of manager on duty during the manager's absence
  • Experience partnering with the General Manager to motivate sales and design associates in developing their client base and outreach efforts
  • Expertise in offering superior levels of customer service
  • Ability to lead, coach and counsel the customer service team on operational functions relating to order processing
  • Contributing to the selling process including assisting with implementing sales strategies and being a presence on the sales floor
  • Strong communication skills across various levels of the organization with the ability to adapt/respond to different types of situations
  • Able to routinely move objects weighing more than 50 pounds and to understand safety requirements

Skill Preferences

  • Sales experience with luxury brands, preferred
  • Background in home furnishings sales, preferred
  • Interior design background, preferred
  • Experience with Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams product a plus
  • Knowledge of Storis POS system a plus
  • Knowledge of Icovia room planning software a plus
