Lead Front End Engineer / Web Developer

We are looking for a talented software engineer to help concept, build and optimize the software used to deliver great learning experiences. In addition to our flagship Fathom platform, you have the opportunity to work on client projects - including Google, FedEx and the NBA. 

You will be expected to play a key role in helping us to specifically design and develop web and other user interfaces.

This role may begin as contract-to-hire, and contract-only candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deliver working software

  • Actively participate in design activities on both Fathom and client-centric projects

  • Bring your detailed knowledge of new tools and techniques into relevant discussions

  • Create templates and other reusable widgets to streamline customizations

  • Improve our processes to make them quicker and more deterministic

  • Foster amazing communication and collaborate with peers

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of direct software development experience - impress us with your skills!

  • Knowledge of modern software development processes (scrum, kanban)

  • Test-first, test-centric work approach - we only have time to build things once

  • Openness to working on new things, and some level of comfort with occasional ambiguity

  • Awesome knowledge of web technologies, particularly Javascript, React or Material

  • Experience in backend development, particularly Node.Js and MongoDB a plus

  • Understanding of corporate learning and training, including SCORM and xAPI is a plus
