We are looking for a Director of Software Development and Engineering to lead the team creating our flagship Fathom platform into the future. In this role, you have the opportunity to chart the path ahead through the exciting Learning and Development technology ecosystem and work directly  with some of our clients like Google, Service King and others. 

You will be expected to play a critical role in managing the technical team, aligning and confirming client requests, ensuring software is built well and overseeing day-today software and infrastructure operations.

This role may begin as full-time permanent or contract-to-hire.

You are a perfect fit if you:

• Have experience leading software development and engineering teams using the MERN stack in small companies and startup SaaS environments.

• Love interacting with the development team, but can also communicate well with internal and external stakeholders

• Have familiarity with SaaS operations, including with containerized cloud software architecture, particularly Kubernetes

• Can execute on short-term priorities while keeping an eye on long-term strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of software development and delivery.

• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to define, prioritize and execute on the evolving feature roadmap.

• Manage and operate the production environment and cloud infrastructure

• Deliver consistent results while working within budgets set in collaboration with the CEO

Requirements

• 8+ years of technical experience, with at least 3-4 years leading teams of 5-10+ staff 

• Deep understanding of SaaS-based business models

• Experience in leading software development teams using scrum or kanban

• Understanding of DevOps and Infrastructure operations

• Some knowledge of Learning and Development, eLearning or training systems and technologies
