Milone & MacBroom, Inc. is currently seeking an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer to work in our Bedford, New Hampshire office.  The Geotechnical group has extensive experience in geotechnical engineering regarding new construction and rehabilitation of buildings, pavements, rock excavation, bridges, slope stability, athletic playing fields, forensic investigations, retaining walls and braced/tied back excavation support systems, from initial feasibility studies through final design including geotechnical construction-phase inspections and testing.

The geotechnical engineer will be responsible for performing field inspections of geotechnical and foundation projects and assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans for designing foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical aspects of construction.   


The candidate should be a graduate student or recent graduate with a passion for solving stability and foundation problems and enjoys being outdoors. 

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering with geotechnical specialty required
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience in geotechnical engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Possess reliable transportation to travel to job sites with a valid driver’s license
  • Attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
  • Field orientation and proven problem-solving skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Ability to successfully work with a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
