Milone & MacBroom, Inc. has an opening for an entry-level Geotechnical Engineer at our Cheshire, Connecticut, office.
Are you a geotechnical engineering graduate student or recent graduate with a passion for solving soil work and foundation problems? Do you enjoy being outdoors and getting your hands dirty, both figuratively and literally? Are you interested in being part of a team of creative, innovative, and hard-working engineers and scientists, working together to help find solutions?
As a Geotechnical Engineering Graduate, you will be responsible to assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans for designing foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical aspects of construction. The geotechnical engineer must be able to perform field inspections of geotechnical and foundation projects.
The geotechnical engineer should possess a strong technical education and professional demeanor. A desire to learn is essential for this position.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical specialty required
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience in geotechnical engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
- Possess reliable transportation to travel to job sites and a valid driver's license
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
- Strong field orientation and proven problem-solving skills
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Ability to successfully work within a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
