Senior Federal Account Manager - Department of War
Federal Systems | Remote in Burlington, MA | Full Time | From $130,000 to $160,000 per year
Open new doors across the federal government and turn real mission needs into opportunities for MatrixSpace’s radar and sensing technology.
MatrixSpace develops AI-enabled radar and sensing systems that help people understand what's happening in the world around them. By combining advanced radar, edge computing, and AI, we deliver situational awareness in environments where traditional sensing solutions struggle.
We’re looking for a Senior Federal Account Manager to grow our business with the US Department of War. You’ll find and develop new opportunities, build lasting customer relationships, and lead deals from first conversation through contract award and expansion. Our sales team is lean, with no dedicated sales support function. You’ll need to be comfortable building your own pipeline, keeping opportunities moving, and handling the details along the way.
If you’re proactive, resourceful, and energized by opening new doors, we’d love to talk.
What You’ll Do
Create and execute a sales plan for federal agencies within the Department of War. Find new customers, missions, and applications for our technology.
Build relationships with agency leaders, program managers, acquisition teams, technical stakeholders, and end users. Learn what they need and where MatrixSpace can help.
Own your pipeline and the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through demonstrations, proposals, procurement, negotiation, and award.
Navigate federal budgets, acquisition processes, and contracting requirements to move opportunities forward and deliver against sales goals.
Work directly with product and engineering teams to shape solutions and demonstrations. Share what you learn from customers to help guide product and sales priorities.
Build relationships with integrators, contractors, and other partners. Represent MatrixSpace in customer meetings and at industry events.
What We’re Looking For
This position requires working directly or indirectly with the US Government in restricted environments. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and may be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance in the future.
Required
10+ years of direct sales experience, including success selling complex technology or systems to the U.S. Department of War.
A record of finding new business, growing accounts, meeting sales goals, and closing complex government opportunities.
Established relationships in the federal market and a strong understanding of federal funding, acquisition, procurement, and contracting.
The ability to connect technical capabilities to operational needs and communicate clearly with executives, technical teams, and end users.
A self-directed approach to prospecting, managing a pipeline, and moving deals forward without dedicated sales support.
Willingness to travel for customer meetings, demonstrations, and industry events.
Preferred
Experience with radar, RF, sensing, counter-UAS, autonomy, AI/ML, or edge computing.
Experience working with federal integrators, contractors, or relevant contract vehicles.
You’ll do well here if you like moving quickly, speaking directly, and taking ownership. You’ll have room to shape how we grow in the federal market—and responsibility for doing the hands-on work that gets us there.
