About the Role

As Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our Grand Rapids market by building a high-performing team, fostering client relationships, and ensuring operational excellence. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have autonomy and support to execute strategic initiatives that drive revenue, enhance client satisfaction, and position our firm for long-term success.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute innovative growth strategies to drive market expansion, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Build & Lead a High-Performing Team: Recruit, mentor, and empower financial professionals to excel, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Client Relationship Excellence: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, delivering tailored financial solutions that address evolving needs.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure efficiency, compliance, and seamless execution of business operations, aligning with corporate policies and industry regulations.
  • Revenue & Business Development: Drive sales initiatives, establish new client relationships, and develop partnerships to exceed revenue targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other business units to drive synergy, innovation, and holistic financial solutions for clients.
  • Industry & Market Leadership: Stay ahead of market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the firm at industry events, build strategic partnerships, and enhance our brand presence in the community.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Leadership: 10+ years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, with a track record of driving growth and managing P&L responsibilities.
  • Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and client segments, with a passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals.
  • Exceptional People Leadership: Ability to recruit, develop, and lead top talent while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Sales & Business Development Acumen: Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and business expansion.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of industry regulations and best practices.
  • Licensing (Required): Life, Accident & Health Insurance; Series 6 or 7; Series 66 or 65.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
