Cloud Operations and Application Support SME

The products team at MarketShare is looking for a Cloud Ops & Application Support SME (Subject Matter Expert) – Engineering who would help developing and supporting the next general SaaS Platform for marketing.  MarketShare has created unique, break-through tools around resource allocation and optimization that are unprecedented and our solutions are driving massive change in the industry.   • Candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of the systems, processes and policies.
  • Provides functional and operational knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
  • Candidate will support the business process reengineering of current as is processes to streamline to be processes, and provide subject expertise as the solution is designed, developed, tested, and fielded.
  • SME will be POC for all support/sustenance/Operations activities
  • will provide solution, co-ordinate with the team and TLM’s for all new features/specification/gap-analysis/ for issue resolution
  • Good understanding of enterprise application architecture and various technology stacks used for application development.
  • Excellent debugging skills.
  • Experience customer requirements first hand and design solutions which go beyond traditional BI solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new Analytics.
  • Identifies and promotes best practices and patterns for solution design & implementation and all activities related to development, support and maintenance
  • Works with Project Managers and Business Owners to plan and prepare for new projects
  • Identifies and promote best practices and patterns for the setup, configuration and management including databases, servers, and network and storage systems
  • Maintain a team-oriented working environment that promotes a high level of personal commitment and accountability and a continued focus on quality and efficiency
  • Create and implement staff development plans to create a strong technical team and mentor
  • Work in a high paced and rewarding environment with bleeding edge technologies and innovative concepts

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree, with 8+ years of relevant experience of IT with significant part in Application and Ops development, management and support. Experience of Change management, Incident management, Problem Management in a corporate environment required
  • Are experienced in leading hosted operations for large enterprises, with a proven track record
  • Must have experience with implementation & support of Java-based web applications
  • Must have extensive knowledge of web application technologies like Websphere/Tomcat/Weblogic and Middleware technologies
  • Working Knowledge of UNIX and Windows platforms.
  • Distributed programming with java or C++.
  • Expertise in core java and related technologies like java serialization, JPA and JDBC.
  • Good exposure to databases, SQL queries and schema design
  • Preferably have experience with Amazon EC2 or other cloud service providers
  • Have an in-depth technical understanding and first-hand experience in operating 24x7 production environments
  • Able to quickly identify approaches to resolving problems
  • Able to resolve crisis situations and guide the team to quick resolution
  • Experience in client-server application support in financial services is an advantage
  • Should be familiar with reporting tools.
  • Experience on industry standard application monitoring/instrumentation tools.
  • Training is critical part of Implementation process; candidate should have had experience preparing training material as well as delivering effective training to the end users.
