Position Overview:The Senior Reliability Engineer is a critical leader in ensuring that all mechanical assets within the assigned production unit consistently meet performance expectations. Design and implement equipment upgrades and improvements using predictive maintenance, Six Sigma tools, and reliability engineering best practices
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
Champion a zero-incident safety culture across reliability and maintenance functions
Drive and implement reliability-centered maintenance strategies
Identify technician training needs and improve maintenance procedures
Lead cost reduction and risk mitigation initiatives through equipment analysis and system improvements
Operational Execution:
Troubleshoot mechanical failures and restore equipment to meet production goals
Support repairs and overhauls of rotating and stationary mechanical assets
Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions
Develop maintenance plans, job procedures, and repair documentation
Utilize SAP and OEE systems to track failure history, costs, and asset performance
Manage equipment lifecycle planning including replacement projects, upgrades, and standardization
Coordinate predictive maintenance programs and follow-up actions from condition monitoring
Team Structure:
Reports to: Mechanical Reliability Manager
Required Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
10+ years of post-graduate experience
Background in chemical, plastics, or refining industries preferred
Strong troubleshooting experience with rotating and fixed equipment
Familiarity with modeling/design tools (e.g., Fathom, Compress, Aspen, SolidWorks)
FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification required; PE preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Hands-on fieldwork mentality with excellent communication and time management skills
Preferred Certifications & Training:
CMRP, API, Vibration Analysis Level 1
Pump and Mechanical Seal training
Knowledge of Mechanical Integrity (MI) requirements under PSM
