What You’ll Do
Lead and Execute HVAC & R Projects: Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced HVAC & R systems, including large and complex units, across healthcare and commercial facilities.
Own BAS Programming & Control Systems: Adjust or create Building Automation System (BAS) programs to optimize equipment functions, add new system points, and capture key performance data.
Ensure Compliance & Standards: Oversee work for code and regulatory compliance; inspect all installations, maintenance, and repairs to meet internal and external standards.
Hands-On Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Use precision tools and instruments to diagnose and service HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment per manufacturer specifications and operational manuals.
Drive Utility Efficiency: Partner with facility teams to design and maintain systems that maximize utility performance and energy control.
Support, Train & Mentor: Provide guidance and technical assistance to peers, while documenting work thoroughly and training others to improve overall department capabilities.
Stay Current & Proactive: Research innovations in HVAC, BAS, tools, and materials—recommend updates that enhance safety, compliance, and efficiency.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; trade/vocational school preferred with coursework in blueprint reading, physics, math, and HVAC-specific training.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of HVAC & R experience, ideally in commercial or healthcare environments.
Certifications:
EPA CFC Certification required
Valid Virginia Driver’s License preferred (required for property maintenance roles)
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of BAS systems and programming
Familiarity with applicable codes for healthcare and commercial buildings
Comfortable using computerized work order and maintenance tracking systems
Soft Skills:
Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to provide training and lead small teams or specialty projects
Additional Requirements:
Must be available as emergency personnel during weather events or emergencies
May need to travel between facilities and provide your own general-purpose tools
