Part-time Bookkeeper / Office Manager

LWDMR Architects is an established, design-oriented, architecture and urban design firm located in the evolving and vibrant Powerhouse Arts District in Downtown Jersey City. 

 

We are expanding rapidly and our team is seeking a creative, competent Part-time Bookkeeper / Office Manager, who is open to future Full-time opportunity. In this role, you will perform various administrative and clerical tasks to support our office, ranging from filing and answering the phone to basic bookkeeping.  This position will be for 16-24 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail (envelopes, packages, etc.)
  • Answer phones when necessary
  • Manage contact list
  • Undertake basic bookkeeping tasks and issue invoices, checks etc.
  • Assist in office management and organization procedures
  • Assist with proposals
  • Assist with updating website (a PLUS)
  • Manage office supplies
  • Assist in A/P functions
  • Perform other office duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven experience as office clerk or other clerical position
  • Familiarity with office procedures and basic accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and processes
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Very good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • High school diploma (minimum)
  • Graphics capabilities a plus
