Marketing Director

Job Description

The Loove, an artist-run music and technology startup in Brooklyn, is on the lookout for a highly motivated, versatile, and collaborative Marketing Director. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging technology and challenging the status quo to build new standards, and to question the nature of audiences interactions with music. Our Marketing Director will champion a wide range of strategic brand and communications projects in our physical and digital spaces. We’re looking for a collaborator to own ideas from inception to completion, manage internal and external teams effectively, and produce high-quality, thoughtful results.

This position plays a critical role in leading the conceptual development and execution of Loove’s GTM and communications strategies. Responsibilities will include close collaboration with our Founders and the leads in the Digital, Studio, Events and Label verticals to build and own a cohesive, engaging and disruptive marketing department.

We need you to:

  • Develop and own a marketing and branding strategy for our web platform and app, as well as driving the marketing and branding of our studio, performance space, and labels

  • Understand our target audience and shape a relevant and targeted user experience

  • Develop user acquisition strategy, leveraging a multi-channel approach; including paid search, email marketing, display advertising, editorial works, community-building and strategic partnerships

  • Be responsible for hiring and/or managing freelance copywriters and graphic designers

  • Collect and analyze data to inform the improvement of customer experience across all company touch points

  • Lead public-facing endeavors and other PR strategies to drive awareness


You should have:

  • A true passion for music and the arts

  • 5-8 years of ground-up marketing experience with a heavy focus on customer acquisition and digital marketing

  • Demonstrated team-building and leadership experience with a collaborative mindset and big picture thinking

  • Strong copywriting and/or copy editing skills

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field

  • External agency/vendor management experience
