Job Description

Fair trade, artist-run music and technology startup in Brooklyn, NY, seeks Chief Information Officer to oversee growing IT department.


  • Establish best practices and efficient IT processes that ensure consistent service, support, and maintenance of all computer systems.

  • Oversee procurement, installation / integration and maintenance of all hardware and software necessary to keep systems functioning.

  • Develop team wide discovery and requirements-gathering processes that drive research and documentation projects across all technical systems.

  • Generate and implement quality assurance and usability testing frameworks.

  • Develop security, systems and operations policy with stakeholders.

  • Optimize systems and strategic services in a holistic way to address the needs of each department.

  • Participate in potential business development efforts.

  • Supervise junior staff.


  • Bachelor’s degree in management, engineering, computer science or physics

  • 5+ years of experience in a technology management role

  • Deep knowledge of how to develop and implement IT processes

  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic vision into tangible project deliverables

  • Jedi-level project management, problem-solving and presentation skills

  • Ability to thrive within an iterative process, balancing expediency with quality of design

  • Knowledge of music and video production helpful
