Our patented solution is baked into all our digital properties which results in the programmatic deployment of listing pages, landing pages and lead generation pages; all of which rank highly in search in a very short period of time. We also own and operate a number of high profile digital assets that attract millions of search queries and substantial traffic.


Locafy is looking for a talented Full Stack PHP developer in Perth, or surrounding areas.

The position requires a developer with experience and expertise building modern web applications using object oriented frameworks. Our backend is a LEMP stack using the Yii PHP framework, which provides RESTful APIs to our frontend, written in Backbone.js. The platform is hosted entirely in the AWS cloud.

Specific daily tasks will span a large number of areas, including API development, content management, payments and reporting, microservice development, and website rendering.

Locafy’s head office is located in Perth, though the engineering team is distributed around Australia and the USA. The role would be based in the company’s modern, Subiaco headquarters and report to the CTO, who is based out of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of PHP MVC Frameworks such as Yii, Cake, Laravel, etc  (7+ years experience)

  • Strong knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS and related tools/packages such as NPM, grunt, webpack, etc (5+ years experience)

  • Strong knowledge of MySQL (7+ years experience)

  • Familiarity with Elasticsearch and no-SQL data stores

  • Experience with AWS services and cloud hosting

  • Any Yii or Backbone experience is a big plus

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with node.js is a plus

  • Any Experience with Coffeescript a plus
