JobTitle: Warehouse Manager

Location: Distribution Center New Jersey

Job Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently, shipments are processed timely, and safety protocols are followed. This role includes supervising staff, optimizing warehouse layout and processes, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all warehouse activities. The Warehouse Manager is integral to supporting supply chain operations, meeting customer demands, and contributing to the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of warehouse supervisors, forklift operators, inventory control specialists, and warehouse staff to ensure productivity and safety.
  • Develop and implement work schedules, monitor performance, and adjust staffing as necessary to meet operational needs.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations to staff members, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure warehouse policies and procedures are adhered to and improve processes where necessary.

2. Inventory Control and Coordination:

  • Oversee inventory management systems, ensuring accuracy and timely updates of stock levels.
  • Coordinate receiving, storage, and distribution activities with other departments, ensuring all shipments are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Implement strategies to reduce inventory discrepancies and optimize storage space.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

3. Logistics and Shipment Management:

  • Ensure that all orders are fulfilled and shipped on time, coordinating with logistics teams to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Supervise loading and unloading activities, ensuring safety and efficiency during the process.
  • Oversee the preparation of shipment documents and ensure that materials are packed according to specifications.

4. Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the warehouse, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Regularly conduct safety audits and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and serviced.
  • Manage and enforce warehouse compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding health, safety, and environmental standards.

5. Process Improvement and Cost Management:

  • Identify and implement best practices for warehouse processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
  • Analyze warehouse performance data and generate reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage budgets for warehouse operations, ensuring cost controls and minimizing operational inefficiencies.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role within a logistics or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of leading and optimizing warehouse operations with a focus on efficiency and safety.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of inventory management techniques, shipping procedures, and warehouse operations.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
