2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator

Here at ALVIC USA, We are currently seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator for our Factory in Auburndale, FL. The individual in this role will be working 2nd shift, but training with our first shift team to start.


Job Summary: As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating computer-controlled machinery to manufacture precision parts and components. Your primary duties will include setting up CNC machines, loading materials, programming machine controls, monitoring production processes, and conducting quality checks. You will work closely with other team members to ensure efficient and accurate production.

Responsibilities:

  1. Machine Setup: Set up CNC machines according to job specifications, including loading raw materials, securing workpieces, and configuring machine settings.

  2. Programming: Program CNC machine controls using computer software to execute machining operations, such as cutting, drilling, milling, and shaping.

  3. Operation Monitoring: Monitor the operation of CNC machines (NESSTI) to ensure they are running smoothly and producing parts within tolerance.

  4. Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on machined parts using precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to maintain quality standards.

  5. Tooling Changes: Perform tool changes and adjustments as required, including installing cutting tools, changing tool offsets, and adjusting tool paths.

  6. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to maintenance staff for repairs.

  7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating CNC machines. Identify and address any safety hazards or concerns in the work area.

  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including machine settings, tooling changes, production quantities, and quality inspection results.

Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Proven experience as a CNC machine operator (NESSTI preferred) or similar role.
  3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  4. Familiarity with CNC programming and G-code programming language.
  5. Strong mathematical skills and understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  6. Ability to operate precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  7. Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
  8. Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  9. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Vocational training or certification in CNC machining or a related field.
  2. Experience with CAD/CAM software for CNC programming.
  3. Knowledge of different types of CNC machines (e.g., milling machines, lathes, routers).
  4. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to move around the warehouse.
