With the mission of building communities that end poverty, Lighthouse works to meet the needs of those facing economic crises, including hunger and homelessness, throughout Oakland County. Lighthouse offers a wide variety of services to assist people experiencing homelessness and poverty, including: a rotating emergency shelter, food pantries, case management, and various housing assistance programs.

Job Description:

Lighthouse is seeking a part-time Shift Monitor to ensure the safety and security of the residents in our Transitional Housing Programs. This position will provide front desk support, screen visitors into the building, and ensure the facility is kept clean and safe. This position will be stationed in Pontiac. Pay rate is $15/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Provide building coverage for our Transitional Housing Programs

  • Provide front desk support; answering phones; light clerical work; greeting/screening residents, visitors and volunteers.

  • Respond to resident requests, assist with conflict resolution and crisis situations.

  • Routinely monitor cameras/surveillance equipment to ensure the safety of residents and building(s).

  • Perform weekly inspections of onsite units (town homes, single family homes and apartments) and document inspections.

  • Complete paperwork and data entry thoroughly and on a timely basis. Date entry includes HMIS (Homeless Management Information System), Link2Feed, daily homeless logs, daily stats sheet, client records, daily house logs, and other paperwork as assigned.

  • Complete Service Prioritization Decision Assessment Tool (SPDAT) assessments, as needed.

  • Provide crisis intervention and incident reports, as needed.

  • Participate in appropriate staff and team meetings.

  • Assist with coordinating move-ins and apartment readiness, as needed

  • Attend trainings and workshops to enhance professional development and represent Lighthouse.


Requirements:

  • Minimum requirement of a High School Diploma,

  • Associate’s Degree preferred,

  • Professional or lived experience with homelessness,

  • Experience working with low-income individuals and families,

  • Some knowledge of the social services landscape in Oakland County and surrounding areas preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong professional and personal boundaries,

  • Demonstrated ability to uphold and enforce program policies and procedures as necessary,

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps,

  • Strong organizational and communication skills,

  • Strong conflict resolution skills,

  • An appetite for innovation and creative problem-solving,

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays, and

  • Reliable transportation.
