Part Time Position- Holiday Program Assistant

November 1- December 23, 2021

20-30 hours per week

Pay Rate: $15/hour

We are seeking a part time Holiday Program Assistant to join our team! This position is responsible for assisting in the management of the Lighthouse Thanksgiving and Adopt a Family programs including but not limit to several food and gift collections and distributions events throughout November and December. This position will assist in all aspects of the Holiday Program which includes all events, and the coordination of logistics with donors and clients. The Holiday Program Assistant works closely with the Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement. Some weekend and evening hours required. The person hired for this role will spend the majority of their time working on site. We are taking several safety precautions at our warehouse to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including enforcing social distancing, mask wearing, sanitizing areas, and taking temperatures of staff, volunteers and visitors upon entering building.


  • Unload food and gift donations on a daily basis
  • Lead, train, and supervise volunteers in the sorting, organizing, and packing of food and gift donations
  • Assist with coordinating holiday food item donations
  • Assist with warehouse set up for holiday programs
  • Do community outreach to corporations, congregations, schools, universities, and other organizations to solicit volunteers and donations
  • Assist in tracking food and gifts donations
  • Coordinate logistics & changes to Adopt a Family Wish Lists, as well as donor and client pick-u and drop off dates
  • Assist with tracking donor and client pick-ups and drop-offs
  • Assist with pick up of off-site donations
  • Assist with other duties assigned


  • Requires heavy lifting. The ability to lift 25-50 pounds daily
  • Volunteer Management experience a plus
  • Able to use pallet jack
  • Capacity to inspire, motivate, and encourage others
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Strong organizational is a must
  • Have a positive team player mentality
  • Adaptable and purpose driven
  • Ability to plan, organize, document, and manage tasks with little supervision
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Requires extended hours ( weekends, evening events, etc.)
