The role: Regional Credit Operations Manager

 

As the lead member of the Regional Credit Operations team based in Bogotá, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of our business growth in Latin America. You have a flair for numbers and are good at critical thinking, with a knack for designing and implementing credit processes that scale. You will manage and oversee our loan operations process and team, both for Colombia and Mexico. You will work hand-and-hand with our data science team, to understand and adapt locally new and innovative models for credit risk assessment. The Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for this role will be Loan Processing Time and Default Rates. The ideal candidate will have a background in the credit and financial services industries; business process outsourcing/call center operations experience focused on clients is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage credit investigation, evaluation and loan processing.

  • Develop, lead, motivate and manage a team of loan officers responsible for servicing the credit applications of our members

  • Document and develop process improvements and knowledge databases.

  • Set goals, develop plans and execute to meet service levels

  • Manage and monitor daily production workflow ensuring all service levels are met/exceeded in terms of timeliness, quality and customer service

  • Communicate with management team regarding credit recommendations, loan transactions and exceptions

  • Prepare and monitor reports on the Loan portfolio and other KPI’s.

  • Ensure execution of key controls; meet all compliance requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; post-graduate or professional degrees preferred.

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in fast-paced business environment, preferably in credit and financial services industries with business process outsourcing/call center operations a distinct advantage.

  • Startup experience highly respected.  

  • Experience with managing loan operations and credit analysis, ideally scaling credit departments.

  • Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish

  • Strong problem solving and quantitative analytical skills, previous experience using Microsoft Excel, Advanced Macros, SQL, and/or other programming language is a significant plus
