Lapis Software Associates is a Product R&D division of Scientific Games, who is a global leader in providing customized, end-to-end gaming solutions to lottery and gaming organizations worldwide. Lapis has created some of the Lottery Industry's most innovative products and have provided software to many lotteries around the world.  We currently have a fast growing product development group based in our Warwick, Rhode Island office and need help to develop and support new customers and products.

About the job:

This position is responsible for developing and executing performance & automated test plans and test cases on new and existing products to ensure that they meet the requisite functional, technical and regulatory compliance and maintains high overall product quality. Interface with Lottery R&D Software Development and other Product Development staff to resolve issues in a timely manner. The resource will be responsible for managing the overall quality assurance process for the products developed and supported by the RI Software development group.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, review and execute test plans and scripts for new and existing system functionality – focus on developing automation and performance testing
  • Submit and track issues found during testing to ensure that they are resolved
  • Follow Work Instructions on a daily basis and assist support manager with these functions
  • Provide detailed Completion Report at the end of each project
  • Interface with the Software Engineering Department and other members of the Product Support Department to resolve all reported issues before the lottery product under test is released. Assist other Test Engineers in this area with their projects
  • Attend and lead Integration and System Test handoff meetings
  • Utilize all required databases for System Test functions and testing
  • Provide a weekly project status report for each assigned project
  • Establish key contacts with upstream organizations that have a direct impact on Product Assurance {Product Management, Systems Engineering, Platform, and Dev}
  • Participate as an active member for Software Quality Assurance process improvement initiatives
  • Lead project team meetings and reviews and write project status and completion reports

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or acceptable equivalent) preferred

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years experience relevant to Software Systems Test
  • Experience in deriving system test plans/cases from system requirements
  • MS SQL Server knowledge
  • Experience in testing internet based products, multiple browsers, and browser compatibility
  • MS Office

Preferred Experience:

  • Automation testing experience
  • Jira
  • Confluence
  • Eclipse

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Test Methodology and Product Development lifecycle
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other team members
  • Ability to mentor and lead associate Test Engineers
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented and capable of working and completing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Able to work and deliver in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with COTS (common off the shelf) tools preferably Jira and Confluence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge or experience with shell scripting language preferred
  • Results oriented, risk taking and extensive multi-tasking ability
