The opportunity
We are looking for an organised and detail-orientated Financial Administrator to support the business across our main offices in Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington.
You will need to be prepared to travel regularly between our offices in Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington.
This is primarily an administrative role focused on collecting, organising and checking clients' accounting records and supporting documents before they are submitted to our outsourcing partner. You will help ensure that each client's accounting file is complete, accurate and well organised so it is ready for review, the preparation of annual accounts and subsequent submission to our in-house Client Managers.
Accuracy, confidentiality and effective communication are important parts of the role. You will also regularly travel between our Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington offices to obtain the client accounting files and information required.
What you'll be doing
- Collect and organise financial information received from clients.
- Prepare and organise the documents required for the preparation of annual accounts by our Client Relationship Managers.
- Review client documentation to make sure files are complete and properly organised.
- Identify missing information, including invoices, receipts, bank statements and other supporting documents.
- Prepare schedules and working papers for Client Relationship Managers.
- Enter and maintain financial information on accounting systems and spreadsheets where required.
- Follow up with clients regarding missing or outstanding information.
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper filing systems.
- Assist with general accounts and administrative tasks as required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling clients' financial and personal information.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure files are complete and ready for drafting.
- Manage multiple client files while working accurately and meeting deadlines.
Essential requirements
We're looking for candidates with:
- 2 years of experience working in administration, finance or related field
- A good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Competence using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to manage multiple client files and meet deadlines.
- A high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- A highly organised and methodical approach.
- A reliable and deadline-focused working style.
- A careful and accurate approach when handling financial information.
- A proactive approach to identifying missing information.
- A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients.
- The ability to undertake regular travel between the Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington offices as required by the role.
- A full clean UK driving licence.
Desirable requirements
- Previous experience in financial matters, bookkeeping, IT or office administration.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.

Working pattern and location
This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis.
Working hours: Working hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm, with some flexibility available.
Your work base will be flexible, with regular travel required between the company's Carlisle, Kendal, Keswick and Workington offices.
