Job Description

Kwalee is an expanding, independent mobile game developer based in the heart of the beautiful town of Leamington Spa, England, within the area known as Silicon Spa. The company was founded in 2011 by David Darling (CBE awarded by the Queen), co-founder of Codemasters and comprises of a highly skilled and creative team, including the original creator of the Micro Machines video games (yes, you read well, we have celebrities here!).

As Junior UI Games Artist you’re creative, enthusiastic and looking for an opportunity to work in next generation mobile gaming.

What you will really be doing

  • Mainly focusing on UI design

  • A wide variety of 2D focussed art tasks including concepting, animation, VFX and UI layouts


How you will be doing this

  • You’ll be part of an agile, multidisciplinary and talented team and work closely with them

  • You’ll be creating assets and working with Unity


What have we worked on last quarter

We’ve been improving Tens! and developing several other exciting mobile F2P games which are due to be launched imminently

Skills and requirements


  • Rapidly create and iterate high quality UI designs

  • Some experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator

  • Strong 2D, UI,  animation and sketching skills

  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and be a team player

  • Ability to visualise and communicate ideas effectively

  • Ability to work to technical and design specifications under tight time constraints

  • You'll be expected to engage in and produce different styles of UI and game assets across multiple mobile titles

  • A creative mindset motivated by challenges and constantly striving for the best

  • You love either console or mobile games, preferably both



  • Knowledge of Unity, including assembling prefabs for responsive user interfaces

  • 3D modelling experience

Salary and location

  • Salary is negotiable depending upon proven track record and experience

  • This job is based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire

  • The position involves working a minimum of 40 hours per week in our office

  • You must have the full right to work within the UK
