Summary:
You will provide hands-on testing support, design evaluation, result reporting and technical support to research and development engineers for the purposes of Development, Evaluation, Verification, and Continuing Engineering for both new and existing products.
Primary Role and Responsibility:
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to play a critical role in our fast-growing, non-traditional, technology company. You will support design engineering as we develop new LED driver designs from concept though production including component selection, test, prototype build, safety testing and production launch. Collaboration is critical as you will offer suggestions for design modifications and improvements based on lab observations.
- Testing and evaluation of components and completed products according to test specifications.
- Develop Test Specifications to verify against product requirements and report results of tests.
- Debug and failure analysis of electronic circuits.
- Administration of some off-site testing such as FCC and Safety.
- Execution and reporting of product characterization.
- Perform a variety of duties assisting Mechanical, Electrical, and System Engineers in the development and assembly of mechanical, electromechanical, electrical engineering designs, PCB and board assemblies & tests, modifications, system assemblies and components.
Required Skills/Qualifications: Working on site is a requirement for this role. Applicants requiring sponsorship will not be considered for this position.
- 5-10 years of work experience.
- Graduate of a technical electronics program with a minimum AA certificate required
- Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic environment with little supervision.
- Must have experience developing tests and analyzing/reporting results.
- Emphasis on the presentation of data so that it can be easily understood.
- An ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Experienced testing prototype assemblies and final product designed by Process and Design Engineers.
- Experienced in electronic test equipment use including multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and temperature chambers.
- Competent knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office for reporting test results and producing test specifications.
- Understanding electronic component parameters required.
- Understanding of power supply testing a plus.
- An organized, self-directed individual who interfaces efficiently with other functional groups on a closely knit development team.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with LabView a plus
- Experience with Python a plus
