Role

The Senior Merchandising Manager will oversee the P&L responsibilities for all the Kiwi Crate products that are sold into the retail channel, as well as the Kiwi Crate eCommerce shop. This person will help develop the company’s merchandise strategy and manage the end-to-end process from product and packaging design to reviewing sales data. It’s a rewarding and rich position that requires someone who is analytical and data-driven, but also has a great eye for product.  This position needs someone who can think strategically, while managing the day-to-day execution of the plan.  

You will be developing relationships with retail partners and managing overall sales (both online + offline), while also participating as a critical member on the Product Design & Merchandising team. Responsibilities include:

  • Merchandise strategy creation, including annual merchandise roadmap

  • Meet financial and margin goals, while driving overall revenue growth

  • Assortment curation + product/packaging creation

  • Relationship management with retail partners and other business development partnerships

  • Reporting, forecasting, and analysis to identify growth opportunities and assortment improvements

  • Ensure a compelling product experience on the site and in store, with inspirational merchandise presentation and clear and accurate product details.  

  • Collaborates closely with Product Designers, Sourcing, Operations, Photography, and Marketing

  • Ensure that retail and online strategies meet the overall Kiwi Crate business objectives.

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop promotional plans, messaging, and offers.

  • Participate in packaging creative direction and execution.

The ideal candidate has great initiative and operating range.  Required skills and responsibilities:

  • 8-12+ years of merchandising or buying experience with demonstrated creative successes and management capabilities

  • Prior experience owning and driving the success of online and offline merchandising initiatives for a brand

  • Clear understanding of financial retail measurements and how to impact them

  • An eye for great merchandise design and intuitive understanding of what will sell and what constitutes a differentiated stand-out product

  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects.  Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while still paying attention to details and executing flawlessly

  • Experience in managing sales at brick and mortar stores, as well as eCommerce

  • Deep understanding of the mom customer, where she shops, and product trends

  • Innovative thinking and creative problem solving skills

  • Great business intuition and experience managing vendor or partner relations

  • Results-driven, with outstanding follow-up, organization, and time management skills

  • Ability to create processes and organizational efficiencies

  • Broad operating range.  Thinks strategically and has a love of detail and design finesse
