Role and Responsibilities:
We’re looking for an experienced Operations leader eager to lead and develop the supply chain and fulfillment operations at a startup where you will have a real impact on the business. You will be responsible for our Operations strategy, optimization, as well as execution. As a key contributor to a critical area in our business, you’ll define and implement how we bring our products to our customers. Your responsibilities include:
Coordinate product and materials demand with sales plans. Establish short- and long-term priorities as supply/demand factors change to ensure customer satisfaction and optimum utilization of inventory. Manage the creation of forecasts, demand vs. supply, inventory overview reports. Work closely with finance on inventory reconciliation, cost, material adjustments. Prepare for scale.
Manage product assembly, fulfillment, and shipping operations and processes. Problem solve and design solutions. Implement new processes and systems. Lead all day-to-day operations including scheduling, production and shipping. Responsible for the performance of all production activities.
Determine and implement operations staffing, including developing appropriate jobs, job content, and staffing levels to meet sales requirements. Define hiring, training, and managing the direct labor personnel.
Responsible for all shipping and receiving. Negotiate best rates and solutions with shipping carriers.
Provide superior service by meeting or exceeding customer expectations for quality product and on-time delivery.
Seek and act on opportunities for efficiencies, improvements, and lean operations. Define and improve operational processes by driving continuous improvements to reduce costs and exceed performance standards. Provide operational leadership and excellence (elimination of complexity and waste, prevention & mistake proofing, etc.).
Demonstrate ability to lead complex projects and interface effectively and positively with all members of the organization, in addition to suppliers and customers. Manage a diverse workforce. Ensure facilities and labor compliance.
Conduct capacity requirement planning to ensure proper utilization of systems, people, equipment & space.
Coordinate the creation of all systems and processes to ensure they are documented and being followed – specifically the planning and order processes.
Work closely with the Sourcing team to review new orders, existing orders and inventory levels. Create strategic plans to maintain quality and control costs. Manage inventory, cycle counting, and accounting related to inventory.

12+ years experience in Operations/ Supply Chain/Inventory Planning/Sales Planning/Merchandising in a leadership role
10+ years of experience in a management role in supply chain operations, logistics or manufacturing, ideally for retail or ecommerce. 3+ years experience in a startup environment.
Experience working in a fast paced, just-in-time supply chain environment

Proven supplier/vendor management experience
Asia manufacturing experience
Sourcing experience a plus
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma concepts and applications a plus
