We offer kids a delightful, engaging way to explore, create, and learn; and arm them with the creative confidence and tools to change the world. Our core offering is a subscription service that delivers hands-on projects to kids of all ages. We also have an online store and a content hub for families. We take great pride and ownership in the products and experiences we design and in the community of parents and kids we serve. Our offices are located in lovely Mountain View, CA. Currently, we are working remotely. As guidelines permit, we will move to our plan of hybrid, remote/in-office work. 


Role and Responsibilities:

The Senior Graphic Designer role reports to the Director of Design and is responsible for conceptualizing and executing all collateral needs to support a cohesive product experience. The role requires an ability to work in a fast-paced environment on short deadlines and interact with multiple departments including Editorial, Photo/Video, Sourcing, and Product Design. It is the Graphic Designer’s responsibility to uphold the visual integrity of the brand and execute all aspects of visual design – from content ideation to final deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have a design related bachelor’s degree, an excellent eye for detail, have copywriting experience and be highly creative and open to feedback. The position requires the ability to multitask, juggle various projects at once and have excellent time management skills.

  • Maintains visual integrity and consistency for all the KiwiCo lines. 

  • Conceptualizes and executes creative assets to better the product experience.

  • Create beautiful visual solutions that advance the KiwiCo brand via typography, photography, videography, color, illustration, and other visual mediums

  • Establish and coordinate art direction for the creative team. Manage design team members and concurrent projects ranging from graphic design to illustration to photography and videography

  • Work alongside product design and editorial in a highly iterative and collaborative way.

  • Manages time wisely to ensure all projects are completed by deadline with ample time for revisions

  • Accepts constructive feedback openly with a positive attitude

  • Assists with organizing and archiving all visual and graphic assets

  • Works closely with cross-functional teams on fresh ways to bring editorial concepts to life in a manner that is on-brand yet innovative


Required Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of industry design tools (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

  • 8+ years experience in graphic design

  • 3+ years of creative leadership

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a refined aesthetic sense, seamless adaptability to a brand’s existing visual style, and an unyielding attention to detail

  • Photo editing and some retouching experience required

  • Self-starter, high level of initiative, strong time management skills

  • Creative and innovative thinker with copywriting experience a strong plus

  • Experience designing for print collateral and catalogs

  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory and general design knowledge

  • BA/BS degree – Graphic Design or related field

  • Experience working in a startup environment and designing for children is a plus
