Product Graphic Designer

KiwiCo is an innovative eCommerce company that sparks kids’ creativity and curiosity through offline and online materials and inspiration. We offer kids a delightful, engaging way to explore, create, and learn; and arm them with the creative confidence and tools to change the world. Our core offering is a subscription service that delivers hands-on projects to kids of all ages. We also have an online store and a content hub for families. We take great pride and ownership in the products and experiences we design and in the community of parents and kids we serve. Our office is located in Mountain View, within walking distance to the Caltrain station. Currently, we are working remotely. As guidelines permit, we will move to our plan of hybrid, remote/in-office work.
Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for an extraordinary Product Graphic Designer, who is passionate about bringing our brand and our work to life through creating the look and feel of our products. You will be partnering with product designers in ideating and applying designs to our products through choosing substrates, applying colors and graphics, as well as creating potential packaging solutions. It’s a rich and rewarding position that directly shapes our customers’ experiences and engages our young customers.
Collaborates closely with Product Design and Sourcing to deliver artwork within our guidelines and timelines
Translates product design concepts into thoughtful design solutions that are age appropriate and unique
Develops inspiring artwork for new and existing product lines that connects with customers and ties into our visual guidelines
Creates and updates component art guidelines for new and existing product lines
Creates mechanical files that clearly communicate the design intent

You must have a strong desire to learn and improve. Excellent organizational, communications, and multi-tasking skills are musts. Required skills and qualifications include:
4+ years of graphic or industrial design experience. Has worked within a production environment, meeting deadlines & incorporating feedback. Experience in children’s product or finished goods preferred.
Ability to interpret product concepts into engaging and compelling designs.
Understands basic production processes and can create production ready files
Hands-on, “get things done” mentality. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on simultaneous projects
Resourceful. You see a project from idea stage to successful completion - and do whatever it takes to make it a success. You are an innovative thinker and can solve problems creatively.
Detail-oriented. We move quickly, but we bring care and thoughtfulness to everything we do. We care deeply about the details.
Collaborative. Ability to work well within cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization. A positive force on the team who can bring our product to the next level.
Broad operating range. Have the ability to think broadly around how component art can further our business goals, while also having a love of detail and design finesse. Thrives in a fast-paced, small company environment.

Strong design and art skills with a fresh aesthetic sense.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign. Working knowledge of techniques.
Experience in graphic design for product/finished good
Experience in creating mechanicals
